Following the company’s announcement that it had secured an order from Tata Communications, DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations’ shares saw a dramatic rebound, rising by about 8% during intraday trading on Monday, January 13.

Tata Communications Limited has given DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations Limited a purchase order for INR 5,50,000 (taxes excluded) to construct a bespoke drone solution for their experience center, “Static Drone.” A drone intended to be exhibited or showcased without being used or flying is known as a static drone. In an exchange filing, the company stated that it is frequently used as a model or demonstration to illustrate the drone’s characteristics, design, and operation without being a flying device.

DroneAcharya underlined the importance of this agreement, saying it represents the beginning of a fruitful alliance with Tata Communications. The firm wants to provide creative and superior drone solutions to strengthen its position in the drone market. It further stated that future initiatives and further innovation may result from this collaboration, which would help both businesses expand in the quickly changing technology industry.

Stock Performance:

Following the order notification, the SME stock had a robust recovery after hitting its intraday low of ₹102.60, which also happened to be its 52-week low. It reached a high of ₹110.60, up 7.8% from the day’s low. The price is still more than 45% behind its 52-week high of ₹202.00 set in January 2024, even after this rebound.

The stock has lost almost 42% of its value in the last 12 months. After a 2.6 percent increase in December 2024, it dropped more than 8 percent in January.

Founded in 2017, DroneAcharya Aerial Innovations is a Pune-based company focusing on drone services and training in India. Its services include underwater inspection, delivery, monitoring, drone mapping, and surveying. Aerial cinematography, drone racing, drone construction, drone pilot training, and agricultural drone solutions are among the training programs the firm offers. In addition, it provides cubesat products, reusable rocket launch vehicles, and maintenance and consulting services.

Financial Performance:

The company’s consolidated profit after tax (PAT) fell 62.1 percent to ₹1.50 crore in the six months ending September 2024 (H1 FY25) from ₹3.96 crore the year before. In contrast, its operating revenue increased by 28.8% to ₹26.90 crore from ₹20.88 crore in H1 FY24. The firm’s overall revenue for the period was ₹27.66 crore, which included ₹75.86 lakh in other income.
